Released: August 16, 2017
By: NBL Canada Media

(LONDON, ON): The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that the 2017 NBL Canada Draft Combine will be held in partnership with St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario on October 20-22, 2017 and for the seventh consecutive year will provide young prospective players an opportunity to pursue their dream of playing professionally or in some cases allow them the chance to continue their careers.

Twenty players will be drafted and receive a training camp opportunity to compete for a roster spot for the 2017-2018 season. Drafting order was determined by team's win-loss record from the 2016-2017 season.

"We're excited to announce this new partnership with St. Clair College for our most important event of the year" said NBL Canada president, Vito Frijia. "The draft combine has always been seen as an integral mechanism of bringing in new fresh talent into the league and changes will give teams a better opportunity to evaluate talent in order to make the best selection for their club."

NBL Canada also welcome Global Basketball who will serve as the official marketing partner for the 2017 NBL Canada Draft Combine. Global Basketball will be responsible for the marketing, recruiting and pre-registration process of the professional prospects to ensure that only the highest caliber players enter the combine.

"Having Global Basketball on board as a partner to assist with marketing and pre-registration gives our league a tremendous opportunity to ensure that our teams will have a quality pool of players to select from", said Windsor Express CEO Dartis Willis

A welcome reception held on Friday October 20th from 6pm-9pm to kick off the weekend and the closed door draft taking place on the evening of Sunday, October 22th with the results being announced on social media.
