HALIFAX, N.S. -- Mike Poole was the best player on a court that included a former NBA champion on Sunday. Poole scored 31 to fuel a 104-98 win over the St. John's Edge on Sunday at Scotiabank Centre.
Poole's big numbers came from the three-point. He shot 7-13 from beyond the arc and went 4-5 from the line to go with six rebounds.
Joel Kindred scored 14 points and dished five assists off the bench and Jordan Washington came in to give the Hurricanes 12 points.
Terry Thomas saw limited minutes after being fouled hard on a dunk in the first half. He finished with nine points in 18 minutes.
In the fourth quarter, a 20-point lead for the Hurricanes was reduced to just five as the two east coast teams battled for the win.
Former Boston Celtic Glen Davis led the Edge with 22 points and nine rebounds.
It was a very physical game, with more than 50 fouls called in the context.
The Hurricanes are 4-1 against the Edge this season, who lead the Central Division.
The Hurricanes return to Scotiabank Centre next Sunday to face the Saint John Riptide. Tickets for that game are available at the Ticket Atlantic Box Office or online.
